Greetings,
This web site is a collaborative project completed by our Marine Biology class at Columbia College in South Carolina. Through our readings and discussions, we have become more aware of the living oceans of our planet as a collection of limited resources that have been subjected to growing and unsustainable harvest pressures in recent decades. As the human population on Earth increases, so will the intensity of this harvest, which includes both familiar seafoods and unique species that seem strange to many of us. We hope that these reports will raise the awareness and concerns of others, including those whose share in these resources must include responsibility as well as profit.
